Point · Shoot · Paste

The capture studio for Windows.

Screenshots, scrolling capture and screen recording with a real timeline — plus an editor that opens the instant you shoot, and search that reads the text inside every capture you take.

Image to text

If you can see it, you can now copy it.

Someone’s screen share. A locked PDF. An error dialog. A screenshot from three years ago. With Clarus, all of it is one hotkey away from being real text on your clipboard.

  • Works where selection doesn’t — dialogs, images, video frames.
  • Good with code — braces, symbols and spacing survive the trip.
  • 100% on your machine — the OCR runs locally, nothing is uploaded.

Send the screen. Keep the secrets.

There’s always something on screen you’d rather not share — a name, an email, a number. Drag a pixelate box over it and it’s gone before you hit send.

  • Pixelate or blur — draw it, move it, resize it like any shape.
  • Works on recordings too — baked into every exported frame, so motion can’t leak it.
  • Nothing leaves your PC — captures never touch a server.
Record

Stop writing steps nobody follows.

Someone asks “how do you do that?” for the third time. With Clarus you hit record and do it once — clicks glow, keys show on screen, your voice comes along.

Edit video

Keep the 20 seconds that matter.

You recorded three minutes; the good part is twenty seconds. Trim it, split it, cut the middle out, speed it up — on a real timeline, without installing a real video editor.

  • Trim, split & remove segments on a multitrack timeline.
  • Independent audio trim and playback speed from 0.5× to 2×.
  • Zoom / punch‑in segments to draw focus to the action.
  • Per‑frame blur that tracks the export — redactions are baked into every frame, so moving content stays censored.
  • Export to MP4, GIF, or MP3 with handy size presets.

Annotate

Every mark you’ll ever need.

An editor opens the instant you capture — and every mark stays an editable object you can move or restyle any time. Draw it, then change your mind — a mark is never baked in until you export.

Snap it. It's already in your hand.

Every capture lands as a card in the corner — copy it, save it, pin it on top, or open the editor. Or skip all of that and drag the card straight into a chat, an email, a folder.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

The core is free forever. Your first 30 days unlock everything, including the Pro tools - no card, and no sign-up to start capturing. After that Clarus keeps working for everything in the Free column and the Pro tools ask you to upgrade when you reach for them. See pricing for the split.

Windows 10 and 11, 64‑bit.

Only if you ask it to. Captures, recordings and OCR all run locally on your PC. Clarus checks for updates, and if you use cloud sharing it uploads the one file you picked — nothing else, and never on its own.

Yes, and it is entirely optional. Send any capture up and you get a short link to share, with an expiry or a password if you want one — and your uploads stay searchable by the text inside them. Clarus never uploads anything by itself.
